Originally from Bihar, Soni moved to Faridabad with her parents. Her father is a labourer at a construction site, and her mother is a domestic worker. She has two younger brothers. She has been coming to the center for three years now. She helps her mother out in her work as domestic help and cooks meals for everyone before coming to school. She is always very excited to come to school.
When she started with the center, she could not even read or write. Now with the help of teachers, she can read and write fluently. She does have a little trouble with English though, but is confident that it will be sorted soon. She even advises the children in her community to attend the center, as she now wants every child to be educated!
